An Introduction to FTP
FTP is a method of sending/retrieving files to/from other computers on the Internet. Although it may seem intimidating when you are just starting out, using FTP is actually quite easy. All you need is the use of a computer which has a direct TCP/IP connection to the Internet, the name (or numeric address) of the site you want to download from, and an FTP program. If you don't already have an FTP program, you'll need to get one. We offer a private FTP site to our
customers. We do not offer Anonymous FTP. If you use FrontPage, or you have
installed FrontPage extensions, you should not use FTP. Instead,
you should use
FrontPage. At this time, we have instructions for the following FTP programs: If we do not have instructions for your FTP program, please read the instructions for the FTP program that seems closest to what you use. Please note that we do not have any instructions for specifically intended for Macintosh FTP users at this time. |
