CONNECTING:
Connecting to your site is easy. Simply type "ftp://youraccount:password@your.IP.add.ress" in the location bar of your browser and press the enter key. If you don't know your IP address, you can find it in HostPilot > Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Web Site.

To use FTP effectively in IE, you will need to open a second window. This window will point to your local files. All you need to do is type the path into the location bar and press the enter key.

MOVING AROUND:
To open a folder, you can double-click on it. If you want to go back, you can press the Back button in the upper-right-hand corner. Alternatively, you can just type in a new location to go to.

TRANSFERRING:
Please note that you should upload ALL of your web content into the Htdocs directory. To upload a file to your web site, you need to go to your local window, right-click on the file you want to upload, and select Copy.

Next, you will need to go to your remote (FTP) window, right-click on the blank space, and select Paste.

Sometimes, you will want to download some content from your web site. You can use the same method outline above, except that you would copy from your remote (FTP) window and paste into your local window.

You can also send multiple files, or even folders, by selecting them and then right-clicking on the selection. While you are copying files from one location to another, you may get a pop-up window which lets you know that you are copying files. You do not need to do anything with this window except wait for it to finish (it will close itself).

DELETING:
You may find yourself with content you no longer want on your site. To get rid of these files, you would want to delete them. You can simply right-click on the file and select Delete.

Once you have selected delete, you will need to confirm your choice by pressing the Yes button in the pop-up window.

DISCONNECTING:
When you are ready to do this, you should select Close from the File menu.
