About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on leader to drive the strategy for Intermedia procurement and lead the procurement function into the next stage, putting in place more effective and efficient processes to ensure optimal pricing, overall spend optimization, risk mitigation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for management of $100- $150 million in spend, this role partners closely with business leaders across the company (in Operations, Sales, Marketing, R&D and IT) as well as key corporate functions such as Legal, HR and Finance. All in all, this role is expected to be a key strategic differentiator for Intermedia!   

In this role you will have the critical responsibility of leading the procurement function for Intermedia’s global operations as well as overseeing facilities management for the company’s offices and presence in the US (in California, Washington, New York) and internationally. Reporting to the Vice President Finance, the successful candidate will bring significant strategic procurement subject matter expertise to the table and be comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented organization.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans, goals and objectives for the Procurement organization, including the development and measurement of key performance indicators 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including tracking and reporting of functional metrics and spend by vendor over time 
  • Manage the daily operations of the procurement processes and systems to ensure that the goods and services required by Intermedia teams are provided in a timely, cost efficient, effective and ethical manner; proactively engaging with business stakeholders as necessary 
  • Plan for the future operations of the department by performing spend diagnostics, with the objective of identifying both short term and long term savings opportunities 
  • Develop and execute category strategies in alignment with corporate and functional business plans. Identify addressable spend to drive EBIDTA savings  
  • Maintain a regular working partnership cadence with Intermedia business stakeholders. Help drive alignment of business requirements, economic opportunity areas for sourcing execution and overall improvement to business metrics through procurement activities 
  • Liaison with key corporate stakeholders to successfully execute category, program and sourcing requirements (e.g. legal, finance) 
  • Create methodology to perform a procurement transformation assessment, with the objective of identifying the sourcing, process and technology and organization improvements required to effectively support ongoing operations 
  • Translate technical and business requirements into clear procurement specifications and expectations in collaboration with internal stakeholders 
  • Manage vendor qualification process, including establishing and controlling process for maintaining qualified vendor database 
  • Evaluate, make recommendations and develop Intermedia-wide procurement policies and procedures for the implementation of standards that represent best practice sourcing methods 
  • Provide training to Intermedia employees and contractors related to procurement policies and procedures 
  • Maintain current knowledge of advanced procurement methods and techniques and applicable laws and regulations to be able to recommend revisions to existing practices 
  • Play an impactful role in M&A due diligence (helping to estimate and validate synergy and savings assumptions) and in the integration of acquired companies 
  • Manage facilities department, including overall facility administration, event support, and refreshment program   

What you bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or combination or education and experience 
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant procurement and strategic sourcing related experience including people and project management 
  • Software-as-as-Service (SaaS), Telecom and/or Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) industry experience is a plus 
  • Experience working at or with Private-Equity backed companies – and demonstrating the ability to glean best practices from and take advantage of procurement resources across other portfolio companies – is also a plus 
  • Proven ability to lead, build trust and credibility across the organization 
  • Experience with the application of best practice sourcing methodologies, including strategic sourcing, transformation and contract negotiations 
  • Demonstrated expertise in independently drafting and analyzing RFPs, RFIs, etc  
  • Strategic focus with the ability to analyze, formulate and implement procurement strategies to increase productivity and reduce costs for a global business 
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups and senior executives as well as partners/customers  
  • Strong time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements 
  • Ability to set clear goals and communicate them in an effective manner 
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, hands-on approach and leadership with capability of being a team player at all levels and a scrappy approach to day to day operations 
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines 
  • Technically savvy, including a demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite of productivity applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio with familiarity with enterprise financial systems
