About The Role:

Intermedia is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hands-on Manager, Accounting who can lead and motivate accounting staff members with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. You will delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information, hire, train, and motivate accounting staff members, develop and implement department controls and procedures, and ensure that the department operates efficiently with the highest level of accuracy and reporting quality.

As a key member of the Finance & Accounting team, you will oversee administrative and accounting activities to achieve Intermedia’s financial and operational goals as we continue to grow and scale globally. Reporting to the Director of Global Accounting, you will ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual general ledger closings to meet accounting calendar deadlines. All in all, this role is expected to ensure that transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and other technical guidelines while providing timely and reliable service and guidance as it pertains to accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage and participate in the daily operations of the accounting department
  • Develop a team of 3+ direct reports by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and building strong employee relationships
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles while maintaining adequate records to document transactions and controls
  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and related controls
  • Review and oversee journal entry, reconciliation, consolidation and financial reporting processes in accordance with GAAP
  • Work closely with FP&A to continuously develop and refine process around expense forecasting and accruals
  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities, as well as managing certain organizational compliance objectives  
  • Manage process for balance sheet and income statement analysis
  • Proactively collaborate and engage with cross-functional teams and leaders (e.g., payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, financial systems, FP&A, and others) to identify and resolve challenges and issues as they relate to the accounting function
  • Monitor changes in accounting guidance in conjunction with other CFO team members and determine applicability as well as implementation strategy, as applicable
  • Assess current practices, procedures, and controls, making recommendations and driving continuous improvement as we continue to grow and scale
  • Play key role in integration of acquired companies
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, financial reporting, and projects as requested

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA preferred) or MBA with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Strong GAAP and technical accounting knowledge, understanding and interpretation of financial and accounting concepts
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of experience managing teams 
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred
  • Work experience in a multinational, high growth environment in the technology sector
  • Experience in designing and implementing general ledger and financial close accounting processes and strong internal control orientation (e.g. Sarbanes Oxley experience)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, comfortable with manipulating large data sets from multiple sources
  • Strong computer skills, experience in system implementation preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - flexible as processes are continuously evolving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • A go-getter with a positive can-do attitude, team player, sense of humor, and a roll-up-your sleeves mentality
