About the Role:

As the newest member of the Voice Operations team, you will be working alongside a small, talented and passionate group. You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and administration of the Linux servers within Intermedia’s UCaaS environment, for which the primary and most critical goal is to ensure the highest uptime and availability possible.

What You'll Do:

  • Continuously improve day-to-day processes through automation and creation of tools
  • Set up monitoring for new applications which will be used to analyze performance and other business metrics
  • Develop internal ops tools for monitoring, data analysis, and integration
  • Respond to and resolve emergent service problems such as server outages, application issues
  • Create tools and improve processes to prevent problem recurrence
  • Responsible for the deployment, scaling, and performance of our applications
  • Work closely with developers to deliver on scalable automation strategy across infrastructure products and features
  • Create and support the adoption of infrastructure and processes that support DevOps practices
  • Ensure information security best practices and policies are implemented
  • Research and present new technologies to the team
  • Troubleshoot complex networks and applications

What skills you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience
  • Combination of education and equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Experience automating deployments and server configuration with Chef
  • Experience with scripting (bash/python)
  • Experience with network protocols including TCP, UDP, DNS, SIP, RTP
  • Using git for source code and config file storage
  • MySQL experience (configuration, replication, backups, troubleshooting, performance)
  • Administration of BIND/DNS
  • Operation and configuration of Apache and Nginx
  • Docker/containers deployment
  • Operation/management of self-hosted Kubernetes
  • Splunk and/or Elasticsearch/Kibana knowledge
  • Knowledge of wireshark and tshark/tcpdump for issue troubleshooting
  • Experience with VoIP/SIP preferred
  • Experience with CI pipelines using Gitlab-CI, Jenkins, something similar 
  • Experience working with ESX or Ovirt preferred
