Join Intermedia at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting

I was reminded the other day by an old friend that the IBM PC was introduced just over 30 years ago, in August of 1981.  He also reminded me that he had been in business for over 30 years.  I have a good number of friends that have been around what they used to call the “PC Industry” since its infancy.   Some have helped transform the industry; others have been transformed by it as they survived the changes in technology and the dynamics of the market.

From PC retailer, to value added reseller, to systems integrator, to solution provider, to managed service provider, they have changed the way our industry does business.  From one business model to the next, they have had to manage new marketing strategies, sales techniques, compensation programs and business partner relationships.  And now, they are doing it again.

Who knows what label will stick to define this new business model – Hosted Services Provider, Cloud Services Integrator or perhaps Managed Cloud Provider.  I certainly don’t know, but I do know that many of Intermedia’s partners are leading the change that is happening.  When MSPmentor announced its top 100 MSPS for 2012, over a third of them were Intermedia partners.

I am certain that as customers demand more services, reliability, speed, security, and the seamless integration of cloud and on-premise infrastructure, Intermedia and its partners will be there to deliver it.  The business cloud is a complex environment and it will take team work on the part of companies like Intermedia and our partners to serve the market at the highest level.

I also know that the team at Intermedia is dedicated to doing everything possible to help our partners transition their businesses and to maximize the opportunities that the business cloud offers them.  Our success is predicated on our ability to enable our partners with great services, education, marketing support and business tools.  We are working on the entire formula for success, and we are actively involved in working with our partners and with the industry as a whole to define the future.

April 10th through April 12th I will be at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to get together with industry leaders and the members of the CompTIA Cloud / SaaS Community to continue working to define the future and this new and exciting cloud business model.

I am also looking forward to participating as a member of the panel that will discuss business model transformation in the channel.  We will be trying to address the trends that will impact the transformation and identify the opportunities the changes represent.   I would like to invite you to join us in Chicago for the meeting.

I am not sure if anyone knows who wrote this, but in times of change it provides great advice.

One ship sails east,
And the other west,
With the selfsame winds that blow.
It’s the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells us the way to go.
