Exchange 2003’s end of life: 2 weeks and counting

April 8th is exactly 14 days away. That’s just 336 hours until Microsoft ends all support for Exchange 2003.

It’s incredibly risky to run software that is no longer supported by the manufacturer — especially if that software is as fundamental to everyday business as your email server.

If your business is still running on-premises Exchange 2003, you are almost out of time. You need to make a decision, fast.

OK, I’ll just upgrade my Exchange software

What’s more, you have to plan it, implement it, and then troubleshoot it—all without any downtime for your users.

And if you’re in the middle of this when Exchange 2003 reaches its end of support, you’ll be fully exposed if something goes wrong (or if hackers begin leveraging an exploit with the knowledge that Microsoft will never issue a patch.)

So then what are my options?

You have two choices: you can do nothing and hope that you never need support (fat chance!), or you can move to the cloud. (Read more about your options in Decision Guide: Exchange 2003 End of Support.)

Here’s the good news about moving to the cloud: there are no hardware considerations. You don’t need to upgrade your adjacent systems. And if you choose Intermedia, your data will be migrated by experts who know how to assure uptime at all steps of the process, at no extra charge.

But as important as our free expert migration may be, that’s not the only reason businesses with Exchange 2003 are choosing Intermedia. There are two other reasons we’re hearing from our new customers:

  1. Our breadth of services. Though we’re the largest independent Exchange provider in the world, our Office in the Cloud suite encompasses far more than Exchange. It also includes Lync, SharePoint, SecuriSync file sync and share, email archiving and much more. All our services are pre-integrated, designed for mobility and managed from a single pane of glass.
  2. We help make you future-proof. When new versions of Exchange come out, we make it simple to upgrade. We’ve been the first provider to offer every new version of hosted Exchange since Exchange 2000. Keeping our customers current is in our DNA.
