When Patrick Ford joined as IT Director, he chose Intermedia’s Office in the Cloud for Magellan’s IT services. But even after consolidating services with Intermedia, employees were still bogged down with logins for a bunch of other cloud apps. Trying to remember separate passwords for apps like Hoover, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Bullhorn was really challenging. Users just couldn’t keep all their logins straight.
This meant that Ford was still being inundated with password reset requests. “I can’t tell you how many times a day someone would email me, ‘What’s this password? I forgot it,’” said Ford. He wasted 8 hours a week dealing with password problems. And his employees were wasting an hour a day hunting for logins and asking him for help.
And it wasn’t just the password reset calls. Ford’s team struggled to individually provision users for each cloud app they needed. They also saw the risks when multiple users shared a login—if employees left the company, company data could easily fall into outside hands. The whole situation was getting out of control and Ford really needed to find a solution.
