Bye, Lync! Skype for Business Server 2015 has arrived. Here’s why we’re excited.

Today, Microsoft released Skype for Business Server 2015. All across the Intermedia offices, I can hear our engineers cracking their knuckles. They can’t wait to start deploying it. In case you’re unaware, Skype for Business marries the user experience of Skype with the security, compliance, and control of Microsoft Lync. There are a lot of improvements in terms of features, UI and experience—and we’re already hard at work adding it to our Office in the CloudTM suite. Even as I type this, our engineers are installing, evaluating and configuring Skype for Business Server 2015. As soon as they can, they will have it ready for customers to deploy and partners to start selling. As for the rest of us, we’re reading the coverage about Skype and enjoying these sneak peeks at the UI. skype for business group sharing skype for business meeting scheduler

Our Skype for Business countdown has begun

Of course, Intermedia will offer more than just Skype for Business. Skype for Business will be integrated with Intermedia’s 20+ other essential business apps, including Hosted Exchange and SecuriSync file sync and share. There’s just one control panel for managing your users, services and devices. And best of all, Skype for Business will be supported by our Worry-Free ExperienceTM, which includes our 99.999% uptime SLA, enterprise-grade security, and 24/7 support with typical hold times of less than 60 seconds. Skype for Business will be available for customers and partners soon. Believe me, our engineers are standing by to dive head-first into deployment. We can’t wait to offer this product.
