Intermedia’s Irina Shamkova named to CRN’s 2015 Women of the Channel list
Every year, CRN honors women leaders whose expertise and vision are driving success in the channel. Specifically, they look for those who “have made a lasting mark on the industry, expanding the breadth of influence in the technology channel.”
This year’s list of women leaders includes executives from HP, Symantec, Cisco Systems, Microsoft…AND Intermedia! We’re proud to announce that our Senior Vice President of Product Management, Irina Shamkova, has been named to CRN’s 2015 Women of the Channel list.
Irina is a true Intermedia success story. She began her career at Intermedia as an entry-level technical support engineer in 2000 and has risen through the ranks to become Senior Vice President of Product Management.
In the last 15 years, she has been instrumental in leading product development and innovation of the company’s entire product portfolio from hosted Microsoft Exchange to proprietary technologies such as Intermedia’s HostPilot® Control Panel, SecuriSync® file sync and share, and many more.
She has also played a pivotal role in bringing Intermedia’s channel program to market, building out the product platform and creating a self-service portal for partners. She continues to support the company’s channel-first approach by developing highly customized products and automation tools that can be private-labeled by partners.
Here’s what our CEO, Michael Gold, had to say about Irina’s recent achievement:
“Irina has been instrumental in bringing channel-ready products to market with expert provisioning, convenient and powerful management tools, and private label solutions that are backed by our Worry-Free ExperienceTM. We celebrate Irina’s accomplishments and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to continued success under her leadership as we support our goal of becoming the number one choice for cloud IT services among partners.”
Irina recently sat down with CRN to offer advice and tips for aspiring women leaders. Here’s a short excerpt from her interview:
Who is your female role model?
Any woman that has created, expressed, achieved and delivered something meaningful and helpful to society is a source of inspiration for me. Jane Goodall is a fantastic example of this. She knew early on what she wanted to achieve, and she struck out on her own to become an influential world leader and a new voice in redefining the relationship between humans and animals. Her drive and passion for her work has been a source of inspiration for me and many other women that have followed in her footsteps.
What advice would you give to young women aspiring to succeed in the workplace?
Be authentic. We’re at our best when we’re doing what we love and are true to ourselves. When you are your true self, your work is genuine and has a larger impact on the customers, partners and colleagues you support.
Never stop learning. Change happens quickly. In order to succeed, you need to stay informed of the latest methods, techniques and developments that impact your industry and role.
And finally volunteer and take initiative. Successfully accomplishing a goal you set out to achieve not only increases your confidence and self-worth, but it established you as a person who can get things done.
From everyone here at Intermedia, we’d like to congratulate Irina on her achievements. We can’t wait to see what she will accomplish next!
