“We lost a lot of important data and had to rebuild everything manually. It was a complete mess,” says Assinnari. “That’s when I decided it was time to explore a cloud email hosting and archiving solution.”
Assinnari’s management team needed a reliable email archiving solution to validate email information sent to and from customers, and to ensure adequate preparation in the event of a lawsuit.
Says Assinnari: “Because we’re dealing with airlines and steamships, everything has to be documented and validated. We need to recover emails to verify shipping and billing details, and if an email or archive server crashed, we’d be in trouble.”
Assinnari had been using an in-house Microsoft Exchange email solution that was less than ideal. “The system was constantly going down. I had to run a SQL server to maintain it; the interface was not user-friendly; and the Microsoft Outlook plug-in was not very good.” Assinnari decided to explore Intermedia’s Exchange Email and eventually its cloud-based Email Archiving service.

“We’re very happy we went with Intermedia,” Assinnari says. “It’s been working great and now if we have a power outage or disaster, we can still get our emails and ensure they’re archived.”

As for ease-of-use, Assinnari says, “Users can go into the folder list without any help and find what they’re looking for. Once I showed them how to use the advanced features, they got the hang of it quickly and were able to narrow down searches to exactly what they wanted.”
