Intermedia Continues Leadership as World’s Largest Hosted Exchange Provider; Grows 40% Year-Over-Year

Adds Control Panels for Windows Mobile and Signs Up Partners for Exchange 15 Beta

2012-07-09

At Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference, Intermedia, a global leader in cloud services and the world’s largest Microsoft Exchange hosting provider, announced its user base grew nearly 40 percent. The growth is driven by Intermedia's channel as well as the adoption of the company’s Office in the Cloud™ offering. Office in the Cloud combines popular Microsoft services such as Exchange, Lync and SharePoint with Intermedia’s services for backup, mobility, security, voice and more. The company also launched Windows Mobile apps for its HostPilot® Control Panel and Partner Portal, and now supports all mobile platforms.

With its proprietary business-grade cloud infrastructure and premium services, Intermedia brings Fortune 50 level IT to small and medium-sized businesses. The company manages more than 480,000 premium Microsoft Exchange mailboxes on behalf of its customers and partners – more than any other hosted Exchange provider, other than Microsoft itself. Intermedia attributes its continued strong growth in part to the market success of its 10,000+ channel partners.

Intermedia's partners who resell Intermedia’s services under their own brand, as well as under Intermedia’s brand, saw a 70 percent year-over-year (YoY) increase in mailboxes under management. Additional growth metrics include:

"Intermedia offers a complete suite of cloud-based IT services that are fully integrated, easy to manage, highly reliable and supported around the clock. It’s a turn-key, worry-free IT solution in the cloud," says Michael Gold, president, Intermedia. "Our partners are growing their businesses, and their bottom line, and we are focused on providing them with enhanced services and solutions to grow even faster."

To enable the growth and profitability of the thousands of Exchange hosters, Intermedia is offering an exclusive promotion to move their existing business to Intermedia. “Exchange hosters can migrate their customers to Intermedia's cloud, thereby lowering their cost structure, offering the latest technologies, maintaining their brand, owning the billing and customer relationship, and focusing on the front end of their business – all while benefitting from Intermedia’s investments in and focus on the back-end,” says Gold. For more information on the promotion, Exchange hosters should contact 1-800-379-7729, option 6.

With small and medium-sized businesses becoming global and running 24x7, system administrators are increasingly running their services while on the move. Since all Intermedia services (private labeled and delivered from Intermedia) are managed from the company's proprietary HostPilot Control Panel, Intermedia invested in enabling access to HostPilot from mobile devices. Intermedia added support for Windows Mobile (with Windows Mobile 8 to follow), completing its support of all major mobile platforms including Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS.

In further news, Intermedia – as a pioneer and the very first hoster to offer hosted Exchange in 2000, the first to market with Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010, and the first to offer private labeled hosted Exchange – was selected by Microsoft as one of 10 partners to beta test Exchange 15, the next generation Exchange platform.

Intermedia is, therefore, signing up participants to its Exchange 15 beta. To learn more, and to sign up for the beta, visit Intermedia at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, July 9-12 at booth #1623.
