Intermedia’s Jon Borgese Recognized as IT ChannelChanger and Future Leader

Global IT Industry Trade Association to Honor Intermedia’s Director of Channel Marketing at ChannelCon 2014 for Leadership and Industry Contributions

2014-07-23

Intermedia today announced Jon Borgese has been recognized as a ChannelChanger and designated a future leader within the information technology (IT) industry channel by CompTIA, the IT Industry Trade Association. At 29, Borgese is the Director of Channel Marketing, and credited with building Intermedia’s channel marketing team from the ground up into an industry-leading powerhouse. Under Borgese’s leadership, Intermedia’s channel has expanded to over 5,000 active partners. Intermedia’s channel now contributes more than 60% of the company’s new revenue.

A first of its kind awards program for the IT channel, CompTIA’s 2014 ChannelChangers recognized five young entrepreneurs and innovators who are making their mark in the technology industry and shaping the future of the IT channel. These emerging leaders are being applauded for their early successes and relentless pursuit of excellence and originality.

“The innovative minds and impressive accomplishments of our winners and many of our nominees is a sure sign that the future of the IT channel is in good hands,” says Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA. “We are honored to recognize Jon Borgese as the first recipient of the CompTIA ChannelChanger award.”

“Jon has been instrumental in creating and distributing Intermedia’s message to partners,” says Bob Leibholz, Intermedia’s senior vice president of Business Development and Strategic Accounts. “He's also been pivotal in our efforts to arm our partners with effective marketing support. He deeply understands the channel and their needs. His excitement and exuberance are both authentic and contagious. I congratulate him on a well-deserved award.”

Young professionals between the ages of 23 and 29 as of August 2014, who have two years’ experience in the IT industry and are currently employed by a CompTIA member company were eligible for consideration as a ChannelChanger. Nominees were evaluated on a number of criteria including the quality of their achievements and accomplishments; their understanding of the channel’s opportunities and challenges and how well they thought and acted beyond their own company to benefit the industry as a whole.

Winners were selected by a committee of IT industry executives and experts, including Robert Demarzo, senior vice president, strategic content, The Channel Company; Heather Murray, vice president, Tech Data Mobile Solutions, Tech Data Corporation; Bob Stegner, senior vice president, North America marketing, Synnex; Larry Walsh, CEO and chief analyst, The 2112 Group; Barry Williams, senior director, indirect channel sales, Comcast; and Mark Williams, CEO, Pensar.

The award winners will be recognized at CompTIA’s ChannelCon 2014, the premier partnering and training event for IT vendors, distributors and channel partners. The conference is set for Aug. 4-6 at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix. Visit ChannelCon to learn more.
