SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes have officially unveiled The 50 Kit to serve as the club’s new alternate jersey for the 2024 and 2025 Major League Soccer seasons, with Intermedia Cloud Communications returning as official jersey partner. As a tribute to the Quakes’ 50th anniversary, The 50 Kit represents a visual celebration of one of the most storied professional soccer clubs in North America and a call back to the founding era.

On Sunday, Feb. 18, fans who attend the 50th Anniversary Block Party will have the first opportunity to see the jersey live and purchase it. The 50 Kit will also be available online and at the Earthquakes’ team store starting Monday, Feb. 19.

“We are honored to celebrate 50 years of the Earthquakes as part of the Northern California community,” said Earthquakes President Jared Shawlee. “With such a special year on the horizon, we created a jersey that reflects this momentous milestone while paying homage to our great past.”

Intermedia returns as the club’s official jersey partner for a fifth season and is prominently displayed on the front of The 50 Kit in black lettering, as well as in white lettering on the existing black and blue Active Fault primary jerseys. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Intermedia is a leading cloud communications company that helps over 135,000 businesses connect better — through voice, video conferencing, chat, contact center, business email and productivity, file sharing and backup, security, archiving, and additional intelligent communications, collaboration, and customer care solutions.

"Intermedia and our 1,400 team members are thrilled to mark our 5th year as the jersey sponsor and exclusive cloud communications provider for the San Jose Earthquakes, especially as we celebrate the Quakes' momentous 50th anniversary," said Michael Gold, Intermedia Cloud Communications CEO. "Our partnership symbolizes a shared dedication to building strong connections — whether it's on the pitch, in the local community, or within business. We are honored and proud to be part of the Earthquakes family, and look forward to another exciting year of uniting fans, empowering businesses, and elevating the game on and off the field.”

“It’s only fitting with this important season ahead that Intermedia is returning for a fifth year, which makes them the longest-tenured jersey partner in our club history,” Shawlee added. “They’ve been an integral part of our club and our business, keeping us connected to our fans and partners with their cloud communications solutions.”

As a proud symbol of the club’s foundation and a nod to its beginnings in the North American Soccer League (NASL), The 50 Kit is a fresh take on a retro classic that connects the oldest generation of fans to the youngest. The iconic red accents stand out on the primarily white top, created with adidas’ AEROREADY technology. The jersey takes cues from some of the most vintage styles of the original era, featuring the classic red V-neck as well as the player’s name and number in black. An embossed pattern of NASL-era iconography runs down the length of the red and black side paneling.

Crested proudly on the jersey’s chest is the iconic Earthquakes’ retro logo, with the two embroidered stars above it for the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cup titles. The crest reads “EARTHQUAKES” in swooping red and black letters, with the “Q” breaking through a soccer ball as well as “SAN JOSE” printed in black lettering below.

Included at the hip is a jock tag featuring the club’s very first logo used only in 1974. The back neck bears the Quakes’ current primary logo in red with the “50” embellishment to denote the 50th anniversary festivities. The complete uniform also includes white shorts and socks, both accented with three red stripes.

The 50 Kit is just one of several 50th anniversary initiatives commencing across Northern California that honor the Earthquakes’ past, present, and future as the club looks forward to the next 50 years. As part of a series of community events, the Quakes Foundation has partnered with The PG&E Corporation Foundation to donate 50,000 meals to fight food insecurity and launched a 50 Murals initiative to bring 50 soccer-inspired murals to Northern California ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On the field, the Quakes open the season on Feb. 24 on the road against FC Dallas before returning to PayPal Park for their home opener Mar. 2 against LA Galaxy. With the biggest Cinco de Mayo Weekend celebration on the West Coast for the clash against LAFC on May 4 at Levi’s Stadium, to the 50th Anniversary Weekend match on June 29 against LA Galaxy at Stanford Stadium, the 2024 schedule is packed with games to remember.
