As part of the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the federal government has earmarked significant economic and relief packages aimed to help small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has been directed to fund new loans and grants to small businesses that will be partially or fully forgivable if proceeds are spent on qualifying expenses. These loans will be offered and administered by the SBA and individual banks participating in the SBA program.
