The American Small Business Coalition (ASBC) is a member-driven community of individuals and organizations from government, industry, and academia, located in the US and abroad. The company focuses on the development of actionable intelligence and key relationships essential to supporting the mission requirements of federal, state, and local government agencies.
The ASBC membership community consists of individual and corporate members from small, medium and large companies, academic institutions and government organizations, participating in formal and experience-based education, information-sharing and networking activities. The ASBC assists its members by leveraging the repository of industry knowledge and personal and professional relationships developed by the ASBC staff, advisory board and membership.

Operating semi-virtually with employees in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland, The ASBC was finding they had compatibility issues with applications previously leveraged – especially with their mobile devices. “Mobile working is a core aspect of how we do business,” says Guy Timberlake, CEO, The ASBC. “We produce upward of 16 events each month, requiring multiple team members to be able to access company resources on the fly.” The company knew they needed a full-service hosted offering that provided instant, anywhere access to their communications from any mobile phone as well as tremendous service. They also wanted to be on Outlook at it is the world’s premium business email platform.
The ASBC conducted extensive due diligence in their search for a hosted Exchange provider. Seven providers, including Intermedia, were interviewed. Intermedia rose above the other providers. “More than anything, we were looking for a provider who had remarkable service,” says Timberlake. “Most providers were in the same ballpark from a price standpoint and offered similar feature sets, but Intermedia stood out on quality and consistent service.”
The company started out on Intermedia Exchange Email 2003 then migrated to Exchange 2007, and recently when Exchange 2010 was launched they migrated once again. “Intermedia has proven to be true professionals in their handling of our migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. Each of the team members involved has contributed to what has been an extremely painless and positive experience,” says Timberlake.

Whereas before employees would need to get to a location to “plug in” to respond to emails and faxes, now that The ASBC is on Intermedia’s hosted environment, they have the ability to conduct business wherever they are – securely and in real-time. “The biggest advantage we have seen since becoming an Intermedia customer is the reliability and the expanded robustness of the product offering,” says Timberlake. “Operations have improved since using Intermedia’s solutions – especially with regard to our ability to organize and manage our information and communications.”
We have had almost no issues with the phone system. Customer service has been great on the rarity that we needed it.
